“Whilst I have developed my own style and colour palette over many years,
I never fail to be excited by the unique stories and the colours and shapes of a client's life and environment.
I learned a long time ago that its actually not about me, and even the painting doesn’t take centre stage on the wall -
it's more about the silent conversation that happens between the viewer and the art,
or between the listener and the music.
Memories waft through, questions and answers arise – it’s a deeply personal interaction.
I think my place is just to recognise the notes that uplift and inspire, and paint those tones.”
Rachel's background includes commercial fit-outs, retail, gallery and
large-scale commissions in hotels, offices and residential buildings.
Further back in her history, Rachel studied piano and violin, emerging with a BMus in Conducting.
Swapping her baton for a paintbrush and setting up a studio in Hong Kong, for many years,
she believes has given her a lifetime of opportunities to listen closely,
create fully, and honour the spaces or ‘pauses’ on the canvas.
Confident in all aspects of commissioned works, no wall is too high, no pink is too bright!
From identifying a client's wishlist, to delivering on time and on budget is well within Rachel's scope.
Rachel is happy to work directly with the client for their home/office, from measure to mock-ups, to install.
She is equally comfortable working alongside a design team, art agent or interior designer.
